Office Furniture Stores – Getting the Best Buy
Charles Darwin was one of the first people to appreciate the necessity of the office chair and was actually the first person to put wheels on his chair. Around the 19th century, as the business world expanded beyond the home office, a class of individuals who sometimes put in 20 hours a day in their offices needed a more versatile chair.
The majority of the office furniture stores are not exclusively focused on the concept of furnishing. You will find computers, computing accessories, stationary supplies etc and then you will also find the ubiquitous stock of office chairs. Whether you are stuck in a cubicle or leaning back in a corner office, your office chair is your throne. If you buy the wrong one, it will become your ceaseless adversary.

When looking for an office chair you maybe overwhelmed by the variety; for every type of personality or functionality, you will find that there is a corresponding chair in your local office furniture stores. One of the most popular and currently the most coveted office chairs out there is the mid-level executives. Ideally, you should choose a chair that has seats made from good quality leather; however, these can be expensive.
On the other hand, some stores also offer inexpensive versions with low quality leather. While many people may not enjoy the feel of leather against their body, the leather feature is still considered a status symbol and it augments the life span of the chair. The sales people at most reputable office furniture stores should be able to point you in the direction of quality leather.
Another feature to watch for is the quality of the foam used to make the seats of the chair and how it is shaped and molded. You can find back support adds-ons at some office furniture stores but they are usually tacky and costly. Sometimes you will find that the stock chair you purchase will provide little or no lumbar support, you should avoid this; after all, you will be in that chair most of the week.
Also ensure that you check the lift capacity and adjustably of the chair. If it’s too sensitive you may find yourself flying up and down when your hand accidentally touches the adjustable lever. But of course the versatility and adjustably of the chair is one of the most important features, literally what makes an office chair an office chair.
There is also a much more stripped down design available at most office furniture stores; it lacks many of the features you might find in the mid-level executive chair. This model does not have the foam insulation in the back or seat, but it is a lighter and more maneuverable model. This chair features full leather strapped back and seat with a bare metal and leather arm rest. The model may seem rather clinical and off putting but it is a work horse; no bells or whistles, just solid frame that can weather time and use like no other. This is not a flashy chair that will impress clients but it will let you get work done.
The important thing to remember when you rummage through the office furniture stores around you for that perfect chair is how you function in the office. Ask yourself, how do I function in my space? Do I move around a lot? Do I need to impress some one with this chair? The fact is with so many models and designs if you take your time you can find the one that will be just right for you.
